Wonderful Victorian pollard oak chimney-piece, the acanthus carved brackets below the square pilasters support the dental moulded shelf. The frieze is extravagently carved with scrolling acanthus leaves which meet at a central cartouche. The panels are veneered with a fine burr veneers. Possibly made by James Lamb of Manchester. Insert not included.

Large and impressive antique Victorian mahogany fire surround. The scrolled canted legs terminate in a rams heads and square capital block with a carved patera, flanking a break front frieze with fine high relief carving of drapes of flowers and a coat of arms below a deep serpentine shelf. Above is an astragal glazed cupboard and carved pillars supporting a reeded cornice. The shelf measures 78" at its widest and 70"wide at the wall, by 21.5"deep.
